MIAMI | Archbishop Curley Notre Dame Prep senior and recent graduate Nicholas Salow has received the Miami Shores Outstanding Student Award. The award was presented at a breakfast held May 21 at the Miami Shores Country Club.

Nick, a longtime Miami Shores resident, grew up playing soccer, basketball, and baseball at the Miami Shores Recreation Center. He is an alumnus of St. Rose of Lima School and recently graduated from ACND.

"Nick has been a leader in every sense of the word at ACND," said Douglas Romanik, ACND principal.

He was fifth in his graduating class with a weighted GPA of 4.87; lettered in both cross country and baseball and served as captain for both of these teams; and showed leadership in various school and community service activities including the school's annual HungerFest, an initiative that raises awareness about world hunger and provides over 3,000 lunches to the homeless in Miami-Dade county.

Nick will attend the University of South Florida in the fall, where he will major in accounting.
