ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida | The Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Joseph of St. Augustine have elected a new leadership team: Sister Kathleen Carr, general superior; Councilors: Sisters Stephanie Flynn, Jane Stoecker, Suzan Foster, and Carolyn Tucker.

The five-member team will be installed and take office on July 31, 2023. They were elected to serve a four-year term.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine are the only congregation of Catholic apostolic women religious headquartered in northeast Florida. They have served the people in Florida continuously since 1866. Their mission is to foster unity and reconciliation in service of the “Dear Neighbor.”

With their motherhouse in St. Augustine, they currently serve in St. Augustine, Miami, and Jacksonville in a variety of ministries.

In the Archdiocese of Miami, since the late 1920s, the sisters have served in quite a number of schools, most recently St. Mary Cathedral School (where Sister Jane served as principal); and St. James and Holy Family schools in North Miami (where Sisters Stephanie and Kathleen served as teachers and administrators).

Today, Sister Rosa Lopez serves as retreat coordinator at Immaculata-La Salle High School, and Sister Elizabeth Worley serves as chancellor for administration and chief operating officer of the Archdiocese of Miami.

The community also continues to sponsor Mercy Hospital and the St. John Bosco Clinic in Miami, for those who lack access to health care.
