St. Agnes students win awards in Scholastic Olympics

Eighth-graders at St. Agnes Academy buddy up for the recent Scholastic Olympics in Miami.

KEY BISCAYNE | Eighth-graders at St. Agnes Academy took home several medals in the recent Scholastic Olympics at Christopher Columbus High School.

Individual medal winners included: 

  • Filipe da Silva, second place in English. 
  • Diego Nunez, second place in history. 
  • Anabella Poleo, third place in history.     
  • Alonso Compean, second place in math.     
  • Jaime Eulate-Gimenez, second place in Spanish.     
  • Natalia Godoy, second place in music.    
  • Nicolas Aguila, first place in physical education.    
  • Carlota Tamayo, second place in physical education. 

The school’s debate team won a third-place award. Team members included Camila Echeverri, Lola Dolz de Espejo, Alessa Larosa and Victoria Sanz de Acedo.

The St. Agnes students competed against students from 20 schools.
