Montegut, LOUISIANA | On behalf of Catholic Charities and Catholics in the Archdiocese of Miami, Msgr. Roberto Garza traveled to Louisiana last week to drop off a 30-foot truck of disaster relief supplies for victims of Hurricane Ida.

Msgr. Garza made stops Oct. 21, 2021 at various churches in the hardest-hit areas of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. Included in the truck were supplies collected by students at St. Hugh School in Coconut Grove.

Msgr. Garza is pastor of St. Joachim Church in Miami, president and executive director of Radio Paz, the archdiocesan radio station, and chairman of the board of Catholic Charities. He was accompanied on the trip by Mauricio Villalta, coordinator of marketing and public relations for Radio Paz.

In the video above, Msgr. Garza is shown at one of his stops, with Father Rajasekar (Raja) Karumelnathan, of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Montegut, Louisiana.

Msgr. Garza and Catholic Charities' CEO Peter Routsis-Arroyo also visited the affected area on Sept. 8, 2021, to help the local Catholic Charities provide immediate relief to those affected by the storm.
