Sister of St. Joseph taught at St. Mary’s Cathedral School, served as Mercy Hospital

ST. AUGUSTINE | Funeral services were held Aug. 18, 2021, at the motherhouse here for Sister Mary Kathleen Clark, 79, a Sister of St. Joseph of St. Augustine who worked at Mercy Hospital and taught at St. Mary’s Cathedral School before retiring.

Sister Kathleen died Aug. 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Convent in St. Augustine, where she had spent her last years in a ministry of prayer.

Born Nancy Frances Clark in Coral Gables, she attended St. Theresa School there and Immaculata Academy (now Immaculata-La Salle High School) in Miami before entering the convent in 1959. Throughout her 62 years as a religious, she served throughout the state of Florida, primarily in elementary education and pastoral care.
