Father Richard Giner ordained for the Trinitarian order

PALMETTO BAY | Archbishop Thomas Wenski ordained a new priest Dec. 17: Father Richard Amoto Giner, a Filipino native and member of the Trinitarian community that ministers at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary-St. Richard Church.

Father Giner's parents, brother and cousins traveled from the Philippines to be present at his ordination.

Along with other Trinitarian and archdiocesan priests, two fellow Filipinos concelebrated the ordination Mass: Archbishop Bernardito Auza, papal nuncio to the United Nations, and Father Jesus "Jets" Medina, a member of the faculty at Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School in Miami.

Father Giner was ordained a deacon, the last step before priesthood, in February of this year, also at Holy Rosary-St. Richard. Bishop Fernando Isern, emeritus of Pueblo, Colorado, presided at that ceremony.

Father Giner will now serve as parochial vicar at Holy Rosary-St. Richard.
