SOUTHWEST RANCHES | Capping off its 25th anniversary year, Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School celebrated a "landmark" event: the renaming of the entrance road to the school, along Flamingo Road, as Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School Way.

The designation was made by the Florida Legislature, in conjunction with the towns of Southwest Ranches and Cooper City. Working together with them and the Florida Department of Transportation, the new signage was unveiled at a brief ceremony Aug. 14, 2023.

Spearheading the effort was a family of McCarthy High students and their parents: Gina and Ramiro Inguanzo and their children, Sophia and Susanna, who graduated this May; and their brother, Christopher, who will graduate in 2025.

The Inguanzo siblings also contributed a hallway-length timeline of the school's history to mark its 25th.
