MIAMI BEACH | Around noon last week, some angelic voices filled the hallways of Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
The voices belonged to the choir from St. Patrick School, who brought some holiday cheer to patients and staff Dec. 14, 2022.
“It was a beautiful event,” said Father Roberto Cid, St. Patrick’s pastor. “The choir sang in the hospital lobby and then walked to the Comprehensive Cancer Center while singing in the corridors of the hospital. In the Cancer Center they brought some Christmas joy to cancer patients and those who care for them.”
This was the first time since the onset of the pandemic that the choir was able to bring Christmas cheer to the hospital.
“It was a beautiful experience, and our choir members are excited about the possibility of visiting other hospitals or nursing homes,” said Bertha Moro, St. Patrick School’s principal.
In fact, a week later, Dec. 20, 2022, the children were singing once again, this time for those having lunch at the Missionaries of Charity shelter for the homeless in Miami.
