MIAMI | As Hurricane Ian bears down on western Cuba and threatens most of Florida, especially the west coast and Tampa area, Archbishop Thomas Wenski has asked that this prayer be uppermost in the lips and hearts of South Florida's Catholics.
God,
our Father, Creator of the Universe,
You have set the earth upon its foundation
and all the elements of nature obey Your command.
We humbly beseech You to keep
us safe from all dangers and calm the storms which may threaten us.
May we be secure in Your loving protection and serve You always
with grateful hearts.
We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, who lives and
reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
