MIAMI | Archdiocesan parishes, schools and agencies are participating once again in Giving Tuesday, a worldwide campaign for charitable giving which takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the U.S.
This year, it's set for Nov. 29, 2022. And the Archdiocese of Miami is urging local Catholics to #GiveCatholic for #GivingTuesday every Tuesday from now until the end of the year: The giving pages will close Dec. 31 at 11:59 p.m.
Last year, archdiocesan parishes, schools and programs collected a total of $163,766.34 for #GivingTuesday.
The faithful can donate by going to the single platform set up by the archdiocesan Development Office, www.givecatholicgt.org. Through that site, South Florida Catholics can donate to their favorite South Florida parish, school or archdiocesan program.
Unlike Give Miami Day, which many parishes, schools and archdiocesan programs took part in Nov. 17, 2022, the money collected on the archdiocesan platform will go entirely to the entity selected by the donor, without any overhead or fee.
Donors also can see if an entity has a fundraising goal and how that money will be used.
Donations must be made by credit card. The minimum amount is $10, with no long-term pledges allowed. Gifts can be made to multiple parishes, schools or programs.
All donors have to do is choose a category — Parishes, Programs, Schools — and click on the entity's logo.
