MIAMI SHORES | Modeling another creative idea during the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Rose of Lima School and Church parishioners took part in a first-ever Christmas carline parade Dec. 17, 2020.
“It was a good way to build community and keep our distance. We couldn't have a party this year,” said Stephen Brown, St. Rose’s principal. “The kids were very excited about it.”
The event, which saw more than 100 cars participating, also involved a car decorating contest: The first-place winner was the Burzenski family, who decorated a military truck; second place went to the Griffith and Suarez family; and third place to the Harrison family.
The first-place winners received a gift card, and those placing second and third place received bottles of wine.
