Alexa Rodriguez, 3, cries because she received a "Dream Doll" instead of the bike and scooter she asked for. Her mother, who was present at the event, gave her the phone to speak to her father, who said he would arrange for Santa to bring her the toys she wanted.
About 300 pre-school children, ages 3 to 5, received gifts Dec. 14 at the center, which serves low-income families and is operated by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami.
NBC Channel 6 and Telemundo 51 sponsored the 18th annual Caravan of Joy toy drive, which also delivered toys to six other non-profit children's organizations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
The event featured Santa arriving on a fire truck.
