Miami ... (March 29, 2023) Archbishop Thomas Wenski issued the following statement regarding reports from the Vatican of Pope Francis being hospitalized due to a respiratory infection:
At each Mass, Catholics pray for the Pope and their bishop. Also, during the Prayers of the Faithful petitions are included for those who are sick or suffering in any way.
In coming days, Catholics throughout the world will offers prayers for Pope Francis both because of his office as the successor of St. Peter and because of his illness. May God grant him serenity despite whatever discomfort he may experience and strengthen his resolve to do God’s will in all things and above all things.
