St. Agatha School unveils new statue of patron saint

MIAMI | St. Agatha finally took her place in the hallway of her namesake school in Miami. On Sept.5, Father Marcos Somarriba, pastor of St. Agatha Church, compared the patron saint of the parish and school with Mother Teresa of Calcutta, whose day was also celebrated at the Friday Mass.

Following the Mass, representatives from each class processed over to the school to be part of the final blessing and placement of the statue.

"We are so grateful to the Home and School Association for this very generous donation,� said Maria Glass, principal of St. Agatha School.
