Pictured are six men from the Miami Archdiocese who were among a group of 13 Florida seminarians to be ordained to the transitional diaconate April 26. Bishop Gregory Parkes of Pensacola-Tallahassee, representing the bishops of Florida, celebrated the ordination Mass at St. Joan of Arc Church in Boca Raton. The deacons will spend the next year working in a parish on weekends while completing their theology studies at St. Vincent de Paul Seminary in Boynton Beach. In addition to the six from Miami, four were ordained for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, two were ordained for Orlando, and one was ordained for St. Augustine.
