HOLLYWOOD On the evening of the Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory annual Gala Auction, the school community had more to celebrate than the school fundraiser. In addition to raising thousands of dollars for the schools academic, arts and athletics programs, the event brought good fortune to Chaminade-Madonna senior Andrew Eduartez who won the grand raffle drawing for $5,000.
I was in total shock, said Lori Eduartez, Andrews mother, when she found out he had won. Our family didnt count on winning, she explained. We just felt it was important to participate in the raffle and contribute to the schools fundraiser.
The Eduartez family generously donated half of their winnings back to Chaminade-Madonna.
Were always thrilled when one of our very own students wins our raffle, said Richard Pulido, senior director of Advancement at the high school. In this case were especially grateful for the Eduartez familys generosity. Their donation will go directly to help other students in pursuing the best education available in South Florida at Chaminade-Madonna.
