MIAMI SHORES Barry Universitys School of Podiatric Medicine celebrated 25 years of successes in Orlando recently at an anniversary celebration titled, The Barefoot Ball. The fundraiser, aimed at providing students of podiatric medicine with scholarships to help offset the cost of their education, raised more than $22,000.

Established in 1985 as the first podiatric medical school in the southern United States, the Barry School of Podiatric Medicine has grown considerably from the modest 18-student class in its first year. The school has now graduated more than 1,100 doctors of podiatric medicine, trained more than 125 podiatric primary care residents, and provided more than $20 million in charitable care to the medically underserved. The school has more than 250 hospital based clerkships and boasts a 36-month podiatric medical and surgical residency training program.
