CORAL GABLES Students, parents and staff at St. Theresa School have been busy this fall: In September, they hosted a Taste of the Gables fundraiser, and in October they celebrated Hispanic Heritage Week with a lively, colorful parade around the school.

The sixth annual Taste of the Gables took place at the historic Comber Hall adjacent to the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, where the scene was hip, lively and full of amazing food. More than 300 people came out to enjoy the culinary delights served up by local restaurants such as Caf Vialettos, Curbside Chef, The Sports Exchange, Liberty Cafe at the Coral Gables Country Club, The Crepemaker, Sugar Mama Cupcakes, Lotus Gardens, Gables Pizza and Salad, Bodega Rum, Por Fin and Talavera.

The event benefits the St. Theresa Sports Society.

In October, the Hispanic heritage celebration featured children from the Pre-K and kindergarten classes taking part in the schools traditional Hispanic Heritage Parade, where they were dressed in traditional Hispanic garments and paraded around the school's morning assembly area.

This was a wonderful celebration of all the different Hispanic cultures represented in St. Theresas student body, as the little ones danced and sang in Spanish.

St. Theresa School was founded in 1925. It is a parish elementary school with grades Pre-K through eight. It has been under the administration of the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles since 1991 and has a student body of close to 900 students.
