Mary Help of Christians Catholic School in Parkland, Florida has an opening for a Middle School Science Teacher for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. The applicant must be a dynamic and innovative educator with the ability to develop cross-curricular units, design instruction to motivate and engage students in Grades 6-8 and develop lessons that cultivate critical thinking skills. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of service.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA Degree in Education, Science, or related field.
- Florida Department of Education Teaching certification in Science 5-9 or Science Areas 6-12 is required, temporary or professional.
- Demonstrated flexibility with assessing needs and strategies; adapt appropriately in a ministerial context.
- Ability to collaborate in a professional learning community to develop, implement and improve the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction to facilitate high student achievement.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint a plus.
- Efficient oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar required.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
