St. Bonaventure Catholic School in Davie, Florida has an opening for a 5th Grade Math and Science Teacher for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. The applicant must be a dynamic and innovative educator with the ability to develop lessons that cultivate critical thinking skills, and design instruction to motivate and engage all learners. The applicant is also responsible for teaching scientific concepts and disciplines, helping learners to understand systems and procedures, and generate ideas using scientific evidence and approaches. The candidate performs all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in Elementary Education.
- FDOE Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education (K-6); temporary or professional preferred or is in the process of applying (considered with statement of eligibility).
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong presentation skills use of instructional technologies.
- Proficiency in using an iPad, PC, Google Classroom, Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Other educational apps are a plus.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Fully committed, supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
