Immaculata - La Salle High School, a private Catholic school in Miami, Florida is looking to hire a qualified High School College Counselor, available to start August 2025. The High School College Counselor provides essential guidance and support to students as they navigate the college admissions process. This role includes assisting students with college and career exploration, application preparation, and developing strategies for post-secondary success. The counselor fosters a supportive environment that encourages students to pursue their academic and career goals. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities include:
- Guide students through all aspects of the college search and application process.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students regarding college selection, admissions, and financial aid.
- Assist students in completing college applications, including essays, personal statements, and interview preparation.
- Organize and lead workshops and seminars on the college application process and financial aid.
- Provide resources to families regarding the college application process and financial aid.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, college applications, and outcomes.
- Coordinate college visits and college fairs for students and families.
- Write and submit letters of recommendation for students applying to colleges or scholarships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in college counseling and/or college admissions.
- Software skills in and proficiency with technology including MS Office.
- Outstanding communication (oral and written) abilities and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet important deadlines.
