PLANTATION | During the month of October, fifth through eighth graders at St. Gregory School participated in a service project called “Bags 'N’ Stuff.”

Started by a St. Gregory alumnus, Adam Azan, Bags 'N’ Stuff aims to provide “luggage filled with love” to foster children of all ages.

Foster children often arrive at their foster home with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. The emergency bags let the children know that they are important enough to receive their new necessities in a duffel bag, not a trash bag.

On Oct. 16, the middle-school students filled 165 canvas duffel bags with T-shirts, socks, blankets, toiletries, and most important, a personal note and prayer card.

St. Gregory’s pastor, Father Michael Hoyer, blessed the bags before they were loaded up for Dr. Azan to take and deliver to foster children of various ages.
