11 Belen Jesuit students sign national letters of intent

Student athletes will continue to play sports in college

Wearing Letterman jackets from their soon to be alma mater and baseball caps from their future college, Belen Jesuit Prep student athletes wait eagerly to sign their national letters of intent to continue playing their individual sport at the collegiate level.

Wearing Letterman jackets from their soon to be alma mater and baseball caps from their future college, Belen Jesuit Prep student athletes wait eagerly to sign their national letters of intent to continue playing their individual sport at the collegiate level.

MIAMI | On Feb. 4, the Belen Jesuit Preparatory School community watched proudly as 11 of their student athletes signed their national letters of intent to play sports at the collegiate level.

“We are very proud of these young men. This signing day is a result of many years of hard work on the playing fields and in the classroom,” said Richard Stuart, the head football coach at Belen. “All of them are outstanding young men, and they will be excellent Belen ambassadors at their respective universities.”

Belen’s college-bound student athletes include:

  • Alexander Keenan - University of Pennsylvania              
  • Nicolas Keenan - University of Pennsylvania              
  • Manuel Sanchez - Cornell University

CROSS COUNTRY:    

  • Ryan Rodriguez � University of Florida           

FOOTBALL:

  • Frank Battle � University of Connecticut           
  • Daniel Hernandez � Trinity College        
  • Jake Rodriguez � Union College

SOCCER:�        

  • Iñigo Sagarduy � Florida International University

SWIMMING:        

  • Miguel Basalo - Marist College

WATER POLO:        

  • Santiago Nuñez � Brown University

“It is a great honor for the Belen community to have these athletes recognized for their stellar abilities,” said Jesuit Father Pedro Suarez, president of the School. “They are not only great athletes, but fine students and a wonderful representation of Belen Jesuit.”
